Glycerin is one of the most effective hydrating ingredients in skincare — drawing moisture from the air into your skin. It appears in almost every moisturiser, serum, and cleanser. The source is what matters: plant-derived glycerin is halal, animal-derived is not. Most modern cosmetics use plant-based glycerin, but the label rarely specifies.
